INS Agent

The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) is responsible for enforcing national immigration regulations. This agency apprehends and deports undocumented immigrants. The INS is comprised of deportation officers, criminal investigators, and border patrol and immigration agents.

Immigration agents process temporary resident applications, develop reports, keep records, and inspect passports. Border patrol agents are responsible for patrolling the border, detaining illegal immigrants, and stopping drug smuggling.
